Device Replacement & Payment Procedures

Oxford City Schools is proud to provide digital devices to enhance our students' learning experiences and meet their unique needs.  Staff and students are responsible for the proper use and care of digital devices that are used at school and agree to abide by ACCEPTABLE AND RESPONSIBLE USE OF TECHNOLOGY FOR STAFF AND STUDENTS in the Code of Student Conduct.

Users may be held responsible for any loss or damage caused by intentional or negligent acts in caring for computers while under their control. All damage incidents must be reported to the school administration and will be investigated by administration and the technology department. If the device is not repairable, a full replacement cost will be charged.

Oxford City Schools recognizes unintentional accidents happen when abiding by the Acceptable Use Policy. An optional Device Protection Coverage offers a small cost in place of the entire replacement cost in the event of a lost, stolen, or broken device. This optional Device Protection Coverage will cover up to two repairs due to accidental damage. The payment window for the cost of Device Protection Coverage will be approximately 8 weeks from the start of school. The final date for the payment window will be determined at the beginning of each school year and communicated via school communications. 

The optional Device Protection Coverage costs for grade level bands are as follows:

Grades 7-12

●     $50

Grades K-6

●     $25

 

If a parent or guardian chooses not to opt-in to Device Protection Coverage or the student has more than two accidental damages, the following costs for repairs or replacements will be the responsibility of the parents or guardians. Costs charged for damages are determined by the cost of replacement and repair parts provided by Apple.
