My name is Yevett Meadows, and I have been at OHS since 2000. I have been teaching for over twenty years. I am a 23-year veteran English teacher at Oxford High School,a presenter for A+ College Ready, and an AP Reader/Rater for Educational Testing Services. I earned my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with majors in English and French from Jacksonville State University in 1999 and earned my master's degree in English as a Second Language from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2005. I graduated from Walter Wellborn High, and have lived in the Eastaboga area most of my life. I teach ELA 11 Honors, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, sponsor the OHS Writing Team, and also coordinate the OHS Jr/Sr Prom.

I am married to an amazing husband and father, Scott Meadows. We have four children:  Westley, Maggie, Dawson, and Macee. Westley works at Kronospan. Dawson is an underground lineman for Pike Electric Corporation. Maggie attended the School of Business at JSU and works at Fusion Transport. Macee is a JSU student who plans to transfer to UAB to study dentistry.

I'm looking forward to a great year of reading, discussing, listening, and writing with this year's amazing group of students! Go Big O!
