My name is Michelle Shelton, and I have been at OHS since 2016. I am so very excited to be an Oxford Yellow Jacket! I have been teaching for over twenty years. I am originally from Rainbow City/Southside in Etowah County, but we have currently relocated to Oxford, which is where my family lived when I was born. It feels like I've come full circle. I teach freshman English and also sponsor the OHS Ambassadors.

I am married to Kyle Shelton, our fixer, builder, chef, and barista. I have three amazing daughters: Taylor, Sydney, and Sophie. Taylor graduated from Samford Universtiy, got married to Tyler, and blessed me with my first...and then second...g-baby. Sydney, the hilarious yet super responsible one, recently graduated from UAB with a degree in marketing and works for a local business in Homewood. She is getting married to her high school sweetheart in December. Sophie, the youngest and my ray of sunshine, is a junior at OHS and cheers and plays tennis for the Yellow Jackets. I am blessed to get to do life with these people. 

I'm looking forward to a great year of writing, reading, and discussing with this year's amazing group of students! Go, Big O!
