 ABOUT ME:

The most important thing that I can tell you about me is that I am a follower of the creator of the universe, Jesus. He has been working on me for 57 years and He has a lot of work left to do. The next most important thing I can tell you about me is that I have been married to the most gracious woman on earth for the last 33 years; Gwen is probably the only person other than Jesus who would put up with me for that long. God has graced us with five children; ask me about them some time. I love to teach. I have had many careers in my life and I have enjoyed doing them all, but my true love is teaching. My philosophy of teaching comes from the ancient Hebrew language. Hebrew words are composed of a three radical root to which suffixes and prefixes are added to expand the meaning and usage. In Hebrew there is no root word for "teach"; the word translated "teach" in English is really the root word for "learn" with prefixes and suffixes that transform the meaning into "cause to learn." So in God's language, I am only teaching when I am causing my students to learn. I do not always succeed, but my goal is always the same: cause my students to learn.
