My name is Samantha Presson. I was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Oxford, Alabama. I attended Oxford City Schools for grades K-12, where I was involved in the band program, various activities, and clubs. Throughout my time in the band program, I had the opportunity to perform in All State, District and County Honor Bands as well as the 2011 Percy Grainger Wind Band Festival in Chicago, IL and 2012 BCS National Championship in New Orleans, LA. I also served as The French National honor Society chapter president during my junior and senior years in at OHS.
I attended Jacksonville State University for my undergraduate and graduate degrees, majoring in Integrated Studies, with a concentration in English and Secondary Education in English Language Arts (ELA), respectively. My first year teaching was spent in south Alabama, where I taught ELA, assisted with several school committees and sponsored the Drama Club.
I am thrilled to be back home close to my family and friends. I am also excited to be a part of the teaching community at my alma mater. I am extremely grateful for the new opportunities the coming year will bring.
