Hello, my name is Heather Cortez.  I graduated from Oxford High School c/o '92.  In 1993 I married Chris Cortez.  We have 3 wonderful children and 3 even more wonderful grandchildren.   

I was a dental hygienist for over 17 years. The time came for me to leave dentistry and I knew I wanted to be a teacher.  Teachers can change the lives of children.  I had some outstanding teachers that encouraged me along the way.  I want to give back the encouragement and love that my teachers gave me.   

 In 2015 I received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Western Governors University.  I enjoy teaching 7th and 8th-grade math here at Oxford Middle School.  I believe every child can experience success in learning and understand the importance of perseverance.
