• I grew up in the Calhoun/Talladega County area with my parents and two younger sisters.  My husband, Paul (OHS Class of 1992), and I live in Oxford. We have been married for 25 years in September!  We have 3 children-Hannah, Parker, and Marleigh.  Hannah is an English teacher and is married to Zack Brown, the student pastor at First Baptist Dadeville.  They are licensed foster parents, and they hope to start fostering soon.  Parker is majoring in Aviation Management at  Auburn University and is a cadet in Air Force ROTC. He plans to serve as an officer in the United States Air Force. Marleigh Claire will be a 6th grader here at CEH.  We have a dog, Axel, who is like our 4th child,  and a cat, Lucy.

My goal every year is for my students to become better readers, writers and students.  I put an emphasis on growth; I want them to leave me knowing that they can be successful readers and students.  Building relationships with my students is also a goal for me every year.  I have high expectations, but I support students in reaching those expectations.

I love traveling, shopping, and reading.  During my time off, you will find me traveling to visit my daughter and son-in-law, my parents, or my sisters.  We also enjoy traveling to the beach (Cape San Blas, Florida, and Jamaica are our favorites!)

I have over 22 years of experience in education.  I have both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Jacksonville State University.  I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in Alabama and in Georgia.  I have also had the privilege of being a Curriculum Specialist, a district Instructional Coach and an administrator.  I have a wide variety of experience and training that helps me meet the needs of a diverse student population.
